John Ledford

John Ledford, CFP® is President/CEO of Fortress Wealth Group, a registered investment advisor. His career in finance began at the age of 19 with a major Wall Street brokerage firm. From there, he quickly advanced to a trust officer with one of the nation’s largest trust and investments banks. In 1996, John joined Financial Advisory Service based in Winter Park, Florida. In 1998, he became president and co-principal of Conte-Ledford Financial Group (formally known as Financial Advisory Service). He held this position until 2002, when he formed Ledford Financial, now known as Fortress Wealth Group.

John Ledford had a passionate interest in airplanes so he learned to fly at the Orlando Executive Airport. He purchased several airplanes for his personal use and used for flight training. In July on 2016 John, and his 9 year step-daughter, went for an evening flight when the engine on his Piper stopped. Taking a look at his options, John decided to ditch in Lake Windermere where two fishermen rescued them. John and his step-daughter sustained serious injuries during the crash. They have fully received from their injuries and John still loves the lure of aviation.
